Synthesis of Connected Speech

چکیده
In this paper I will report on recent extensions to the nonconcatenative speech synthesis architecture employed in the YorkTalk and IPOX systems (Coleman 1992a, 1994, Local 1992, Dirksen and Coleman 1994). These systems have not to date been noted for verbosity: our primary goals have been to achieve the most natural−sounding speech that we can, as well as solving the technical challenges presented by using nonsegmental phonological representations in speech synthesis.

Study on Unit-Selection and Statistical Parametric Speech Synthesis Techniques
One of the interesting topics on multimedia domain is concerned with empowering computer in order to speech production. Speech synthesis is granting human abilities to the computer for speech production. Data-based approach and process-based approach are the two main approaches on speech synthesis. Each approach has its varied challenges. Unit-selection speech synthesis and statistical parametr...
متن کاملArticulatory synthesis of French connected speech from EMA data
This paper reports an experiment in synthesizing French connected speech using Maeda’s digital simulation of the vocaltract system. The dynamics of the vocal-tract shape are estimated from the dynamics of Electromagnetic Articulograph (EMA) sensors via Maeda’s geometrical articulatory model. Time-varying characteristics of the glottis and the velopharyngeal port are set using empirical rules, w...
متن کاملAudience response system-based assessment for analysis-by-synthesis
We propose a variety of Hollywood’s film screenings as a productive tool for phonetic and prosodic research through analysis-by-synthesis. An initial study where the method is used to allow a potential target audience, rather than trained experts, to point out oddities in an extended stretch of connected synthesised speech is presented as proofof-concept.

Abstract Speech databases are part of the concatenative text to speech synthesis systems. Phonetic quality of the databases plays a significant role in the naturalness of the synthesized speech. This paper introduces two syllable and diphone speech databases for Persian and investigates the way of their development and their specifications and their advantages to each other. ...
متن کاملConnected speech processes in Warlpiri
Connected speech processes (CSP) in Warlpiri, an indigenous language of central Australia, taken from two fluent ‘dreaming’ monologues are analyzed with the aim of observing the influence of language particular phonological constraints and prosody upon phonetic processes of lenition, co-articulation and selective segmental enhancement.
